Above All That Is Random

Differences in opinions..

Women Of Society

“What? Another kid gone rogue, Eh?” said the old man whilst observing the spray painting on the wall through his judgemental eyes. I was walking by but I stopped as I heard him.

“I don’t understand sir, What’s so wrong with an artist trying to get his art out there. Moreover I’m sure its meaningful.”

“So wrong? So .. Your generation is a mess. What happened to the times when a brush and a paper was enough to do the trick!? Look at y’all, spendin’ all your time in shady places with shady people, disrespectin’ your elders, gettin’ “art” on your on damned body and to top it all now y’all are destroyin’ public property. Law breakers. This does it”

“I’m sorry but I thought this wall was long abandoned. Not no defend “my generation” or anything but sir, this wall has been issued by the government to street artists for this very purpose. Moreover if this were in a museum or a gallery then I think you’d be accepting of it, right? Nonetheless, you seem to be very perceptive sir so why not try and perceive something of the art we have in front of us rather than deducing things about each other?” I said in an effort to change the topic and also to try and prove a point.

“A’ight a’ight, What the hell, I’ll give it a shot!” he said lifting his hands upto his ears as if he was giving up. “I think the artist is a guy who probably is single and dry, if ya know what I mean and that’s why he chose to draw a women. She is beautiful and aims to fly high like butterflies he drew and the artist has his eyes on her and she probably is an easy target for him. That’s why he drew the target sign” he said it with a sense of accomplishment in his voice.

“My turn.” I said without giving him a chance to say another word. “The artist is a girl who wants to spread awareness about the women of our society. They are infact a target but not in the eyes of the artist who wants to get laid as you signifinied but of the society that bounds them, see the shackles in her hair? All we want is peace which is clearly significant by the icon drawn right in the middle, which you cleary missed by the way. And lastly, the butterflies, we want to get liberated from the eyes of predators who look at us like a piece of meat. Is all”

“How do you know all this?” he asked with an astonishing tone.

“I made her.”
